Nadia Tagoe (pronounced Tay-go) is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter with a distinctively deep and soulful voice. Dubbed “a soulful voice on the rise” by Occhi Magazine, she creates heartfelt pop music with touches of R&B, blues, and jazz. With a voice often likened to Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, and Nina Simone, Nadia brings a rich and unforgettable emotional depth to every note.
Born in Waterloo, Ontario and of Ghanaian descent, Nadia first found her voice in musical theatre, show choir, and a cappella groups. For many years, Nadia got caught in the rat race and stopped singing until songs began pouring out of her during an extended period of travel. Now, after spending two years living and performing in Australia, she has returned to Canada to continue sharing her original music with the world. Nadia has masterfully harnessed the depth of her haunting vocals, crafting original music that is both emotionally raw and viscerally evocative. Her songs often explore the blurred lines between fantasy and reality, wrapped in atmospheric production and timeless melodies.
Nadia’s debut single Daydreams earned radio play in Ontario, blog features, and 8,000 streams and counting on Spotify. Her follow-up, Imaginary Girl, takes her magnetic sound even further. With a style that defies easy classification but leaves a lasting impression, Nadia is carving out her own space in the world of indie pop.
